He grieves over Israel's sins, doesn't He? I've found that His normal response to my sin is to try to gently draw me back, like a grieving parent with an errent child. He only pulls out the big guns and gets angry when the gentle approach doesn't work. And THAT ain't fun because when He gets angry, He means business, and it's not His preferred way of working.
I love the prophets because they show God heart clearer than any other literature in the Bible. And they show a God who feels, who grieves, and let's not forget that the Holy Spirit is God and can be grieved - "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God."
