Photos of my weekend

Weight Thursday morning: 145.4 (same as Wednesday).
Calories eaten Thursday: 1594
Fat: 82g (49%)
Carbs: 43g (11%)
Protein: 115g (31%)

Calories burned in exercise today: 30 (yike!)

Friday and Saturday were both off plan this past week, so I have only Thursday to report above. You will remember that was a 12 hour workday from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.

I'm closing in quickly on 2 million steps. Check it out! I'm over 1,950,000! :)

Spent Friday cooking and cleaning. I scooped out the cat's litterbox and vacuumed. The cats didn't even freak out. I made cauliflower mashed potatoes, and cooked a whole chicken and picked the meat off it. I cleaned the stove and sink and then used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to scrub the dirt off the kitchen floor on my hands and knees and also get into the corners. I got the worst of it at least, but it still needs more work. By the way, those Magic Erasers really work! I recommend the product.

Went out to dinner with Eleanor Friday night. Click to enlarge.

I drank WAY too much. After a 1/2 liter of wine at the restaurant I went home and had pina coladas.

Came home and did my Bible reading before bed. Wound up with this gratuitous cat picture. I haven't posted one in a while. Click to enlarge because this one is too cute!

This photo was my inspiration for starting my first Flickr group, Things On Cats. I searched for a group and couldn't find one, so I started one myself. Please join and post any photos you have of objects on cats. :)

Walked around the lake twice with Brad on Saturday. Whew. Then we went out to dinner at the New Zealander, then back to my place for dessert. Here's the cheeseburger he ate. Yes, that's a fried egg in there. Click to enlarge.

When we arrived at my house I checked my blood sugar for kicks and was hypo!

First test
hypoglycemia

Retest
hypoglycemia

So yes, I really was hypoglycemic. I tested on my backup Aviva and it pegged me at 53 with a little flashing message on the screen, "Hypo?" I ate some carbs (blueberries, low-carb Doritos, Carb Smart ice cream, cottage cheese) and within an hour my blood sugar was over a 100.

I think I went hypo from drinking too much on Friday night. It shocked my liver and kept it from performing gluconeogenesis. Coupled with the two hours of walking my blood sugar went too low.

Yuriy asked me to come into work early today so he could go to church. I was supposed to be there at 1 p.m. but the buses and BART were running pretty bad, so I made it at 1:10 and didn't get to even walk to work from the train station.

Yuriy used to work the Sunday morning shift every week and wanted me to come into work two hours early every Sunday. You know, I have a life, and I finally told him he needed to decide if church or work was more important because I couldn't keep doing it. He vacated the Sunday morning spot shortly after. I don't mind one Sunday (such as today) where he is just filling in for the regular guy, but every Sunday was a bit much. :-p

And stay tuned. My sister gave me some good news today but told me I have to keep it a secret for two months. She doesn't want to jinx herself by telling the whole world yet. Be sure that I'll be posting it as soon as I have the go ahead!

Were you having symptoms of hypo when your sugars were so low?

You've got to go and visit stuffonmycat.com ! It really is hilarious. Because of that, my husband always wants to put stuff on our cats and take pictures. lol

Cindy,

Other than being EXTREMELY tired, no. I just wanted to go to sleep and that was about it for symptoms.

Strangely enough, I had a lab workup of 69 one time and I did have hypo symptoms then - very irratable and crying easily. Of course, that was a hypo while eating high carb and this was a hypo while eating low-carb. That could make a difference.
