Wish I could get those calories a bit lower.

I had quite the crazy morning yesterday. I got to bed a bit later than usual the night before - 2 a.m. I was awoken at 8 by the roofers arriving and banging around on the roof VERY LOUDLY. I stayed in bed with my eyes closed, but I couldn't sleep with the racket. The cats were both hiding under the bed out of fear, and my nerves were on edge from the constant noise. I made my NutriSystem pancakes, drizzled sugar-free syrup over them, ate them, and tried to get the hell out of dodge.

First I forgot my coffee, then the shopping list. The road is being paved so I walked six blocks down to the 11 bus stop, then found out that I didn't have my bus pass. I walked six blocks back up the hill, hunted around until I found where I'd misplaced it, then walked the six blocks back down the hill.

On my way home I realized I'd forgotten to buy salad, so I dropped everything at home and left for work early. I walked from the BART station to work, stopping at Pac N Save on the way to buy salad. I had over 12,000 steps by the time I got to work.

Calgon, take me away, lol!

Oh...I almost forgot. I finished up the Candistroy program yesterday morning. I don't think this one did any good either. The good news is, I am over halfway through this regimen. Two down and two to go, but the remaining two are much shorter. Next up is the GNC Complete Body Cleansing Program. I also started Lean System 7 the same time I started NutriSystem.

Ok, more NutriSystem food reviews:

Pancakes breakfast (plain) - Good, though I've never been a huge fan of pancakes. It calls for making them with fat free milk; I used the cappuccino flavored Soy Slender soy milk and then drizzled a little sugar-free maple syrup over it.

Chicken Stew with Barley lunch - I liked this and found it yummy. It also didn't raise my blood sugars. Of course, I did take two starch blocker pills, but still. Before: 91; 50 minutes after: 98. So this is yummy and healthy. And as a low-carber I felt guilty eating beans and barley, lol! So decadent! I'm going to order more of this next time.

Cherry Jubilee pudding dessert - Pretty good, but it came out watery. I think it needs less water than it calls for. The photo here shows it with less water.

Green Pepper Steak with Rice - The rice was separate from the pepper steak, so that was good. I took two small bites and tossed the rest of that. The pepper steak had too much sauce that had to be scooped up and drunk with a spoon until you got down to the meat. That was the only negative. It tasted good. I probably won't get it again since I know I'll just end up tossing most of the rice.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal - For the same number of calories (150) and carbs (about 25g) I can make my own, and without all the sugar. I'd get a bigger serving, too. The taste - pretty much like regular old apple cinnamon oatmeal. I won't order this again.

Overall I'm liking the food (except the the scrambled eggs which I will keep eating anyway). Now if the people who publicly represent this way of eating on the NutriSystem forum were nicer, then everything would be great. Too bad the food is better than they are.

Yesterday I reported a bunch of posts to the moderator because they were simply bashing me. She removed them. You know you are getting unfairly bashed when the moderator agrees with you.

I hope this diet works for me! I do want to lose weight so bad!

I read an article linked from the Atkins newsletter I receive each month. It recommended a protein intake of 1.2 to 1.6 grams per kilogram of body weight. So I looked myself up. I'm roughly 150; that translates to 68 kilograms. That means my protein needs are 82-109g a day. I usually get even more than that. It's quite safe to eat up to 1g per pound of body weight, so a 150 pound person could eat 150g a day with no ill effect.

Susanna gave me a compliment today. I showed her my biceps and she said they were bigger than my boobs. And that's saying something because I am a solid C cup! :) I told her I could do men's push-ups and got down and did two just to prove it. I do think my biceps are bigger.

I have a body fat test tomorrow morning before my workout! Eek! I wonder how bad the damage will be. The guy will weight and measure me and then test my body fat (using calipers). We will see. I was around 25% body fat last time. I'll post my results here, even though I sense it will be bad news!

Good to hear the food is pretty good!!! Do you think you could stay on it long term?

Hope this works for you!!

No, and I wouldn't want to. I do not believe a long term low-fat diet is healthy. As it is I "fatted up" yesterday with a bunch of peanuts. :)
