The basic NutriSystem program

Calories eaten yesterday: 1658
Fat: 73g (40%)
Carbs: 59g (14%)
Protein: 142g (35%)

Weight this morning: 151.4
Calories burned in exercise today: 106

Still well above 150. Sucks. I have got to get this weight off. I tried on the new Old Navy size 8 "just below waist" jeans I bought Monday and they do fit! They are probably stretched out from other people trying them on. The true test will be after I wash them.

Went grocery shopping and bought nonfat plain yogurt, nonfat cream cheese, nonfat sliced cheese and shredded, low-cal Salad Spritzers dressing, tomatoes, and nonfat Dannon yogurt. Also my usual staples - salad, low-fat cottage cheese, cucumbers, and celery. I looked for the Carb Smart ice cream and there was none! I didn't even see a tag on the shelf! Oh whoa is me if it's been discontinued! Argh! There was a "no sugar added" ice cream, but that doesn't come in Rocky Road!

NutriSystem logoI asked how the NutriSystem meal plan works, and here's the basic run down of what I get:

Breakfast:
NutriSystem Breakfast Entree + 1 Fruit + 1 Dairy or 1 Protein

Lunch:
NutriSystem Lunch Entree + Salad + 1 Protein or 1 Dairy

Snack:
1 Fruit + 1 Protein or 1 Dairy

Dinner:
NutriSystem Dinner Entree + 2 Vegetables + Salad with low-cal Dressing

Dessert:
NutriSystem Dessert + 1 Fat

Serving definitions:
Veggie:

5 g max carbs
2 g min protein
25 max calories

Fruit:
15 g max carbs
60 max calories

Low-GI Carb:
15 g max carbs
3 g min protein
110 max calories

Fat:
5 g max fat
45 max calories

Dairy or Protein:
12 g max carbs
7 g min protein
3 g max fat
100 max calories

I'll make tweaks (for example, I like to eat 6 times a day and need protein after my workout), but that's the basic program. I'll sub the fruits out for something else (carb, veggie, or protein). I also need to horde my dairies for nighttime so I can have my cottage cheese. Actually, going by the above example, I'd need to save out just two dairy servings for my cottage cheese.

I was on Nutrisystem about 13 years ago. Back then they only had one plan.. low-fat, low-cal. I sure hope the food has gotten better over the years. :0) Hope you get the results you are looking for!

All the programs are low-fat, low-cal. But some of the foods are higher or lower in carbs, etc.

I also like to eat 6 times a day and I tend to save my breakfast fruit for a mid-morning snack. You can eat the items in any order you like, which is good - as long as you eat everything by then end of the day! ;)
