The workmen showed up this morning to replace the windows in the living room. I planned to put Xena in the bathroom when I left for the gym, but they showed up before that. Xena alerted me that the noises outside were the workmen arriving. I wasn't dressed yet, but I threw on my workout clothes very quickly, opened the door, and there they were outside with their stuff almost ready to knock! I tried to get Xena into the bathroom but she became all claws and eventually hid under the bed with Abby. The front door was wide open so I hope they both stayed under there.
The workmen came in and laid down cloths, but all the banging and stuff they did was leaving a thin layer a dust on everything even before I left. I don't want to think what it will be like when I get home. I'm going to have to dust and vacuum before I can move the furniture back.
When I do get the furniture back I think I'll change a couple things around. I've wanted to do that for a while and this is the perfect time.
They left the front door open and took all the windows out, including the metal supports between the windows. There was nothing but a big gaping hole left in the living room wall, making the apartment very cold. It was still like that when I left for the gym. I took a couple photos of them working, but don't have them uploaded yet.
At the gym I did one hour of lower body and core. I took Joe's suggestion on a couple of the exercises and started at a higher weight than usual. After that I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes at 5.6 to 5.9 mph. I think I covered about 2.8 miles. I had the best endorphin high from that! My throat is feeling a bit weird so I decided not to stress my body more by walking to work from the train station so I took the bus.
No gym tomorrow. I know if I go in tomorrow for upper body I won't be as strong as if I wait until Wednesday. So I'm not sure what I'll do tomorrow other than vacuuming, dusting, moving the furniture around (all that counts as a workout, right?), and walking to work from the train.
