Well, a lost of a piddly 0.2 lbs., and the scale bounced around trying to decide between 138.6 and 138.4, so it's really more like no loss. And I was so good this past week. I'm not too worried about the body fat going up because the scale method isn't terribly precise. Mostly I'm tracking it so I can see any change over a long period of time.
Saturdays are so totally my downfall. I shared a Fiesta Platter from Taco Bell with Brad yesterday.
My Vicki Box finally arrived last week. Brad brought it to my house on Friday and we unpacked it but I have only had time to open one present so far. With the apartment is disarray (see below) the gifts are buried in the vanity room with a bunch of stuff from the living room. Seems the box was lost, Tina put in a claim, rebought the stuff (or more likely bought different stuff), and shipped it again.
Here's the weekend (links below go to photos I took):
Friday Brad and I went walking. Traffic was slow and going to San Leandro was going to take forever, so we walked along the shoreline in Alameda for just over 2 hours.
Then we went to get a Starbuck's coffee, but the store at the mall in Alameda was closed, so we headed to the Safeway on the other side of the mall because there's a small Starbucks in their store. We ended up buying major groceries along with the coffee, but I did need the groceries. Coming home from that I found out that my windows will be replaced tomorrow, and I need to move all the furniture away from the windows.
Friday night I woke up in the middle of the night and had to eat quite a bit before I could get back to sleep.
Saturday morning I moved a bunch of stuff away from the windows. Brad helped a little. My apartment is in total disarray at the moment. Brad and I headed to church and even though I ate tons of snacks during the snack time, I still sat down and had some soup at the potluck. I didn't need to eat it. I just wanted to. Bad Victoria! I even swiped an extra granola bar and stashed it in my purse.
Then we hit WalMart because I was out of soda to drink at work and dropped it at work before heading out to the San Leandro shoreline to walk. The step tracker Web site (my step log, not a photo) I use runs on a monthly basis. Since March started on my usual day off from exercise, I asked Brad if we could do some walking so I wouldn't fall too far behind at the start of the month. We parked over the the Grant St. entrance and entered there so we could walk some new areas instead of the same ones over and over. We walked for about an hour.
I wanted to try the new Fiesta Platters at Taco Bell so I got one of those and shared it with Brad. Brad got a Quesadilla and shared it with me (just one piece). I liked the Fiesta Platter and it actually looked like the picture on TV. It's way too carby though unless I'm binging, and if I'm binging I'd rather have a real burrito from a real Mexican restaurant.
I was stuffed, but Brad wanted more. For my part, I wanted wine, but not at home. I wanted to enjoy my wine at a restaurant, so we went to Quinn's. I just ordered wine. Brad ordered beer and a full meal. He ate the whole thing, plus all the bread they brought to our table! I had half of one of the small pieces of bread they brought, and that was it.
Check out my Flickr photos for all the photos I took this weekend. I got some really nice sunset shots.
Today I went to the gym and did one hour of upper body weights, followed by running on the treadmill for 30 minutes (5.5 mph, 2.75 miles). I decided not to walk to work today because I have my laptop with me, so I stayed on the treadmill an extra 10 minutes (until 1:30) to help make up for it. Hopefully that helped burn through the tons of carbs I ate. I feel soooo fat. My tummy is majorly pooching out from all the carbs causing water retention.
I changed up my weight training routine at the advice of Joe, the personal trainer who hangs out on the NS boards. I asked about doing my pyramids the opposite way and he said that was fine. So today instead of doing lighter weights and more reps and progressing to heavy weights and fewer reps, I started with the heavier weights and fewer reps and dropped the weight each set to lighter weights and more reps.
Also, on the advice of Muscle & Fitness Hers magazine, I am starting out with free weights and then moving to cable exercises and finally machines last. It has to do with the stabilizer muscles getting tired during the free weights. Those muscles are used a lot less with machines so by doing machines last you can continue to work even when those muscles are tired.
