The dentist was hell on earth and reinforced my fear of them. When they explained that I'd need novacaine, I decided to get the whole thing over with at once. They used gel to help numb my mouth, then gave me four shots of lidocaine - one in each mouth quadrent (OUCH!) - and did the deep cleaning beneath the gums. I was really freaked out and after they gave me the shots and sat me up while waiting for the lidocaine to take effect, I started crying. The dentist is traumatizing for me. I couldn't eat or drink for a while afterward because my mouth was numb, and once it started to wear off I could only drink through a straw. The first thing I made was the low-carb pina colodas. I needed a drink after what I went through!Anyway, it's over for now and they want to see me in two weeks to see if the deep cleaning worked. I hope it did because it was very expensive and I can't afford to do it again.
As of Thursday, I'm over 1/3 of the way to my 1 million step goal, and have just over 150 miles walked! :) I'm going to do it! After I make 1 million steps I'll shoot for 2 million (884 miles), and then I'll shoot for 1000 miles.
Walked over 15,000 steps on Thursday. Yay! 6.64 miles.

Wow! they did your whole mouth in one visit!!!! I guess it's expensive!!!
Sorry it was so bad....I understand completely. I miss my old dentist...we both went to the same hack as kids, and he was VERY gentle and understanding....heck they gave me gas (no charge) for everything....including the cleanings!! Here in NC they charge over $100 for gas! (novocaine is included in fee). I need major work done, but just can't afford it.
Good going with your walking!!!! I think I'm going to get a good pedometer and try something similar.
