Total gain/loss: -3.0

Yay! I lost 0.8 pounds this week! Woohoo! Low calorie is working! My fat jeans are finally getting loose. Needless to say, I'm sticking with this for another week.

I'm revising my goal back UP again to 140. I don't know if I can make 137 and really doubt I could maintain it. And really, 140 is a perfectly acceptable weight at my height (5'7") and bone structure (medium). So anywhere within a couple pounds of that and I'll be happy. I just want to fit into my skinny jeans again!
Six weeks cheat free today! I rock!

Couldn't get to the gym today, so I walked the last 1.5 miles to work. FitDay says 90 calories.

The book I was asked to review came yesterday. A woman saw my reviews on Amazon asked me if I'd like to review Dr. Dan's Super Weight Loss Plan by Dan Curtis and Scott Helvenston if she sent me the book. I said sure. Hey...free book! :) I e-mailed her yesterday to tell her it came and that I will be reading it as soon as I finish my current book. From a quick perusal it looks to be mostly focused on fitness with a fairly typical low-fat, high-carb diet. 40-45% isn't too far off from the Zone diet (40% carbs), but, IMHO, is still too high for most people.

I walked over 12,000 steps yesterday, but I'm going to only take pictures at over 14,000 steps now. I was getting 12,000 way too often. :)

Brad W Says: It's long but...

Can you reach 90 days cheat free. I asked you yesterday. IMHO you are hands down one of the most capable. Go for it!!! Slimmita Bayb SanscarbsnFAT

I really am glad you re-oriented your goal weight. It is not really an accurate goal for all. It is merely a (Very) general guide. You and your body cannot be catagorized. Some people get so upset when they don't reach THOSE weights set-up on tables by Doctors and Statisticians.

Please, if you get to a comfortable
weight losing a considerable number of pounds and in mostly good form don't wreck yourself trying to reach a goal your body is fighting. You won't win. If you start using extraordinary means you are beginning a dangerous road. Drugs, uppers, some even go to the low end of drug abuse or smoking to maintain weight. The alternative is you give up and begin to think you should be fat or use chemicals. Then, you have no choice but go to fat acceptance mode or drug abuse.

In the midst there are those that
cannot maintain a life change in regards to food. Yo-Yo dieting.
You do it to get weight off and then go back to the wrong way of eating because it tasted better and you enjoy it. If you care enough to get the weight off care enough to keep it off. You are worth it. Some though, by choice stay fat because they wish to be that way and just live as the Jovial Surfeiters. I say we should accept them if they choose this and are comfortable that way. But, if they change and wish to lose, then lets give them the right info as Dr. Atkins, Mr. Moore, Victoria and many of you. You deserve notice for your right way of looking and INVESTIGATING wisely diets and their effects. Thanks Victoria and all of you. Your balance and steadfastness should cause others to look more carefully. They should not fall to saying we must accept unhealthy obese bodies. Our reason, we are ridiculed and hurt because we are what we do not like, so, we'll like it istead of fight it to feel better about ourselves. IOW our feelings instead of wisdom guide us. Feeling have no conscience or guided by right or wrong. Anyone who goes by feelings without wise guidance...well think of alcoholics, drug abusers, violent criminals etc..etc..etc..Examples of those who give up on themselves for the feel. Extreme example which doen't represent most of you. The priciple though, is the same foundation. I feel therefore I do...The question is Who, ARE,you?!

Cutting sugars and carbs is the healthiest way to achieve weight loss no matter what dieticians and doctors say. I know of several living examples. Some people can't do this diet. =-(

This might be due to health, mental issues or other rightful reasons. This shouldn't deter any from testing and seeing if it will work for you. It's personal. So you must find out for yourself. But, do check with your Doctor. You must, to see if there might be a condition that prevents you from doing Atkins or other such diets.

If you don't like the diet give it a real chance. Agree with yourself to do it(barring health issues) for a year. If it doesn't work give it another chance. A shorter time maybe 3-6 months. Then..move on to another right and healthy style diet. Get in s a support group of those that have succeeded. They can encourage and understand what you are really experiencing giving well founded advice.

Most who make money off the diet culture rue diets that mean success or an end to their wrong approach. Which a cut fat view is mostly, yet, not totally wrong.

The fat cutting diets have had their time in the sun. They have their contribution to the health of people on them. But, when a better
eating style more suitable to our bodies comes along we should use it.

You may lose weight, but fat is necessary. Try living totally off of all fats and you will die or be veeery unhealthy as a result. Even cutting the fats as we have may have contributed to other health problems we have not noticed. Nobody has even studied this that I know of. Any know of any study of this type. Doctors, Statisticians, Nurses??

Brad W adds:

I must say also to those who are part of the Fat acceptance group that you might be part of the, "I give Up" acceptance group. Join those who say it can't be done and then your lack of inspiration will not be challenged or even worried about. You'll be accepted no matter how wrong or dangerous your eating habits or lifestyle is or will become. The worse you become the more they'll support you. Neat trick.

If your body had a voice would it protest..? It does!
It is the conditions which inhibit you having a full life we have and you are capable of. Are you restricted from participating in events you wish to due to your body's obese condition. As they say, it is easier to give in to temptation than to fight it. Like a sinner saying, " I am a sinner so I will accept it and do it without seeking to do right." Works as in making you life easy. No conflict.

But, good lives will always be in conflict on earth. It takes work and committment. Today, seems people are too weak or stressed or ?? __________ .
Fill in the blank
to make and keep a committment.

For a test try to stop doing something you enjoy and like for a period of 45 days. Maybe it is going to your favorite place, or maybe something different. Doesn't have to be a bad thing. Give up coffee, wearing your favorite shirt or whatever. Can you do it when it costs you what you want. If you can't, therein might be the problem of your dieting and whatever else you fail at. IOW if it takes your personal pleasure away you will not bow to that. Then the problem is obvious, it isn't the means that are root of the problems...it's YOU and the false foundation you have built your life on.>..!

That is why some relationships die. The other is not willing to give up that which is pleasurable to them and hurting the relationship.Point: In relating to yourself will you do the best for yourself or, just give up!

Then there is the I don't care group. In all the world that group is the one most beyond help because they have no wise concern for themselves or others. They bring pain upon themselves and all. We who care then must endure them that don't to our own pain and sorrow.
This is also right. For, if they will not hear we can't give them our ears and hearts. They must take the outcome of their way and thought. Sad. To have a way out and reject it because it is hard or not to your liking is a harsh road. Oh well, many still take it though harsh it is. Oue Serra
