It's dead, Jim

Well, the modem on my computer died this morning. Dead as a doornail. The computer guy will come to pick it up Friday, it will probably be gone a week or more, and it will cost $100 plus the cost of the modem, which he wouldn't quote me a price on. My savings account stands at about $5. Whoopee. It also needs a new battery and this would be a good time to do that.

It has to be fixed, but I have no idea how I'm going to cover rent, food, and this repair. :-p

At any rate, after leaving work tomorrow you won't hear from me again until sometime Monday evening when I come back to work. (I'm off Sunday for the race.) So no posts Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Sorry. I do have a lot of stuff I want to post, but it won't be posted this weekend.

I'll also have pictures of the race on my digital camera that I won't be able to upload to my computer, much less get them online. Eventually I will put a page up. It'll just have to wait a couple weeks until I get the computer back and have the time to do all the work.

It also means no ability to fiddle with my foods at home, so I'll keep a paper journal and update anything I need to when I get back.

I so wanted to drop a message early Sunday morning before the race, but now I can't!
